LET’S PLAY…

Death surrounds us from birth onwards, yet how aware of her presence we are is often a reflection of the necessity to be so. Having experienced what feels like a million deaths [literal and metaphorical] in my time on this planet, I seek to support others on their journeys with death and dying. Every month this year I will share the book(s) I am reading, and towards the spring, I will share more about plans for death doula training and the learnings and unlearnings within. I seek to share this path, and to connect with others who are currently exploring, or looking to explore, parallel or intersecting work.

For nearly a decade I have studied with a Buddhist Sangha, Shinnyo-en, founded in Japan, which aims to cultivate integrity by practicing service, joyous giving, and spiritual care in our lives. I have the heart and determination to dedicate deeper study so that I may support others on their paths, developing unwavering compassion, and my Buddha nature. I seek to share this path and to connect with others who are currently exploring, or looking to explore parallel or intersecting spiritual paths. Let’s meditate and adventure in spiritual connection together, wherever we are on our respective paths!

I’ve practiced yoga for nearly two decades, however, my path has experienced disruption due to several injuries and recovery patterns. As I continue to live in these realities, and return to a more regular yoga practice, it has become evident that it is time for intentional study toward trauma informed yoga teacher training. I see this learning and unlearning as essential, not only for my path, but also for those I accompany on the journey of life and death. I seek to share this path, and to connect with others who are currently exploring, or looking to explore, parallel or intersecting work.

As someone who lives with intersecting chronic health conditions; some life-long yet only recently diagnosed in adulthood, I am processing deep grief, working towards radical acceptance, inviting shape shifting, and meaning making, all while living with ongoing medical trauma. This year marks both the beginning and full circle of some of these journeys - always in evolution. I seek to share learnings and unlearnings on this path, and to connect with others who are experiencing parallel or intersecting paths, particularly around womxn’s health and chronic illness. Let’s walk and process together!

My life is dedicated to social justice and big love. How I situate my understanding of purpose and identity in relationship to work and productivity deserves healing. How can I reorient towards process, and deepened relationship, as measures of impact? I look to this essential question as I move towards the celebration and release of my decade-long work with Arts Connect International, in June 2024. I seek to share the learnings and unlearnings of this incredible work and to connect with others who are currently in the process of professional ego release. For five years my life has been inextricably intertwined with my life partner’s. Honoring Avanish, and his family - my family - I am embarking on a journey to deepen my understanding of our now shared roots in India. I will be taking Hindi classes (virtually with an intensive in the summer), studying traditional Indian arts and spiritual practices, and working to more deeply connect to culture as a means to know my Indian family more intimately. I seek to share this path, and to connect with others who are currently exploring, learning about, or growing, parallel curiosities and/or connections.
